Not many people know this about me, but I am a family history enthusiast. The only party I throw every year, besides my kids birthday parties, is a Dia de los Muertos party, where we all get together and talk about our ancestors. We also eat really good food that is all of our ancestors' favorites.
When I found a podcast all about family history and learning about people's stories, I knew that I had to talk about it on my show.

My partner, Scott, did a church service mission in Finland for two years before we met. I have fallen in love with this amazing country from his stories and after visiting several years ago.
This week I wanted to honor the way that Finns celebrate Valentine's Day. In Finland, Valentine's Day isn't just a day dedicated to romance exclusively, but celebrates wider friendships.
The Finnish term for Valentine's Day, juustuvanpäivä, translates into Friend's Day. Here are some fun friendship...

I have so many good memories of snuggling up and watching the Disney princess movies as a kid. Since having my own kids, I'm a bit more wary of the way the princesses were portrayed in those movies. When I found the kid podcast Girl Tales, which reimagines fairy tales into empowering stories, I was so excited to share it with my kids, and with all of you.

I used to be one of those people that had to have my New Year's resolutions or affirmation in place and concrete by January 1st.
A couple of years ago, when I had sick kids for the whole week between Christmas and New Year's, I realized how silly it was to put an arbitrary deadline on something that I was hoping to work on for an entire year. I decided that the entire month of January is when I would figure out what my new year will look like.
That's why I decided to wait until a...

One of my favorite types of podcasts to listen to in the winter is cozy podcasts. One of the first cozy podcasts I ever found was the All Things Cozy podcast. I've already done an episode where I chatted with the hosts, Matt and Gillian about their show, but I wanted an excuse to have them back on.
I asked if they could share some of their favorite podcasts and they agreed! In this episode Matt and Gillian both give two of their favorite podcasts that are cozy. Hopefully you will find a...

My son is an animal lover. His favorite animal changes often, but there is always a place in his heart for marine animals. So when I found this podcast, I knew we had to listen to it and share it with other marine animal lovers. It's called Dive in with NOAA Fisheries. That's NOAA as in National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.

During the lead up to Christmas, I decided to show y'all some Christmas podcasts that you can listen to when you need a break from all of the Christmas music that seems to be on repeat this time of year. This week, I get to talk about the podcast, Totally Rad Christmas. This podcast talks about all things Christmas in the eighties and has the best feelings of Christmas nostalgia.

I love listening to episodes when podcasters get a little more personal, do you?
One I really enjoy is when Kendra Adachi, the host of the Lazy Genius podcast, talks about what is saving her life right now. I've started doing my own version of these episodes too where I share some of my favorite things. I hope that other moms can relate to these favorite things and what is saving my life right now!

How does bedtime go at your house? Do you wish you had an easy bedtime routine?
Let me just tell you that bedtime usually starts out great at our house, but when it's time for me to say goodnight and leave the room, everything falls apart rather quickly.
This is why the kids now listen to sleep podcasts after I leave the room.
This week's kid podcast is one of the podcasts in our bedtime rotation called Koala Moon. It is wonderfully soothing, but still entertaining.

Last month, I did an entire episode about cozy podcasts. Listening to a cozy podcast is one of my favorite ways to lean into the fall season. If you want to listen to that episode, it is linked on the full show notes.
Today's episode is also about cozy podcasts, but kind of a subgenre of cozy podcasts, food podcasts! If you are a foodie, you will find a new favorite (or two). There are so many amazing food podcasts out there to enjoy.
