“Bryan and Gerry do an excellent job breaking down all of the different things going on in Magic on a week to week basis. They really do it all. Covering SCG events, Magic Fests, and the MPL. There analysis is always spot on and has definitely helped me improve my game.
As a personal anecdote, I had been on hiatus from paper magic for quite some time, only picking it up again around the time Rivals of Ixalan came out. I was hungry for content and the GAM Podcast scratched that itch perfectly. Listening to their evaluations have definitely helped me get better and in turn I have gotten my ENTIRE extended friend group into Magic again. People who this time last year didn’t even know what the five colors of Magic were are now cubing and having game nights at my house on a semi regular basis. Using tips from the podcast my wife and I even were able to come in 1st and 2nd place at one of our local pre-releases.
It really is a great podcast for anyone who wants to level up their game. My favorite episodes are their deck dumps, where they just got through a list of what has been successful when a new format comes out. I get a lot of inspiration for deck building listening to those episodes. Bryan and Gerry always seem to have some minor improvement here or some little edge here to help you decide what you need to tweak to see success.
Best proof I have of how spot on these guys are is the episode they devoted to Mono Blue Tempo this Standard season. The week that episode came out someone won the SCG open with the deck. Shortly thereafter, this same archetype wins a pro tour event. Clearly Bryan and Gerry know what they are talking about. Listen to them every week to get the insights you need to make yourself a better player. I know at least 8 friends of mine who have risen from casual Mages to real Planeswalkers on the back of advice I have gleaned from the cast.
THAT’S GAME!”
