“Real Talk entered my orbit a few years ago. We had already purchased a second property to rent out on our own years ago, without support. Meaning, just a lawyer and a real estate agent. We had tenant issues and decided to see because we couldn’t see the long game - the benefits of buy and hold, we were focused on the day-to-day. Had we know of property managers, we’d likely still own that property.
Fast forward a few years, where my wife had sworn off investing, and I hear Gary’s podcast. And then I start editing Gary’s podcast. I keep listening weekly to all the great guests and strategies, and something changes. I have hope and start thinking about getting back in the game again. I have a conversation with my wife about it, and while she’s somewhat interested, she’s fearful of the ‘toilets and tenants’ issues. Gary and Darlene sit down with us, and go over the good, bad and ugly of property ownership. This time, we wouldn’t be alone as we joined Gary’s investment club and have access to a huge rolodex of professionals, plus we’re able to chat with other owners both experienced and newbies.
We jump in…that was 2 years ago, we now own 4 properties and have a property manager to worry about the day to day stuff while we plan for the future.
We wouldn’t be here without Gary and Darlene, and this podcast is FULL of great ideas, strategies, mistakes people have made so YOU don’t make them, and hope for the future, both personal and financial.”
