“At first I hesitated over listening to the Gayly Prophet / Planet because of …. Well… jkr, but it would be hypocritical of me to pretend I didn’t like the world she created, and I wanted to listen to you after the Gay pirates podcast…
Though I don’t always agree with everything, sometimes it is an eye-opener, you make excellent points and your analysis is great. For instance, one thing I don’t agree with is that (I know this is not a popular opinion), though I loved Sirius and Remus in book 3 and agree they make a wonderful couple and should have been canon, my hero worship dimmed considerably when I realised that they were capable of being literal bullies… and it barely registers with them 20 years later as adults. I don’t care that Snape - and maybe orhers? - gave as good as they got. I don’t care why or to what extent… My appreciation of Remus and Sirius never recovered from that, and well, Remus’s whole behaviour in book 7 didn’t help.
As far as Gryffindors are concerned I still love Gred and Forge and Hermione (and Yeah Harry and McGonagall too).
Also, though I agree Snape - and frankly most of the staff - is a disastrous teachers and really shouldn’t teach children at all, I have wondered how much what we know of him (and some other characters) is affected by the bias of the narrator - after all, what we do know of him is often told through Harry’s eyes or what he has been told by other characters who might have exaggerated… Finally, could it be possible that he might not always have been that bad of a teacher? Could Harry’s arrival at Hogwarts have triggered a kind of reversal to his 13-year-old emotional state? I really have trouble believing that the parents of the Gryffindor pupils haven’t had him sacked if he has really been consistently that abusive for 10 years? Though their track record during Harry’s years does point to a collective and frankly disturbing blindness as far as Hogwarts is concerned…
But then again I wholeheartedly agree with you: Snape should really seek some professional help and be dismissed. Along with Dumbledore, Hooch and a few others.

So I have listened to you a little more now and discovered other topics you’ve broached, and it’s still great and really helpful.
I hope you still have fun - or have fun again? - making this podcast.
Thanks a lot and good luck with the continuation of your podcast!”
