“I know the future” tone
I enjoy the podcast, however, the certainty of what the future will look like seemed not just misplaced, but also sounded like a wishful thinking. Demographic changes happen, and the argument “it’s coming so get with the program” is not a persuasive one. I also think the talk of “unearned privilege” forgets that the imperfect system of liberal democracy did not fall from the sky like a manna. It’s was fought for. The women rights to work, vote, travel without supervision were also fought for. It’s like telling a native English speaker in a English speaking country that they they have English privilege. Culture happens over generations and it’s an accumulation of a given society. We are not tabula rasa and to reduce it to $ or skin color is to miss the component that provides us with a starting point on how to live our lives. Thank you for a discussion.

I’m married to an immigrant and hear heavily accented English every day, but I just cannot get on board with this guy’s accent, which almost sounds like half accent half speech impediment. Every episode I try I end up turning off in frustration :/
