“The podcast is a rare opportunity to be inside the courtroom of a high profile and what is developing as a very consequential case. Much of the content is difficult to hear; this includes our hosts Ann and Phelim.
Both Ann and Phelim have approached each episode with a journalistic skepticism sorely absent from today’s media. It can be jarring to hear a thoughtfully questioning voice commenting on heart wrenching testimony and the emotional retelling of brutal violence. Some have criticized the podcast as a vehicle for victim shaming. It is true that Ann and Phelim have been tough and at times even rough on the brave (or diabolical) witnesses offering testimony.
However, the defense has yet to present their case. When they do, rest assured Ann and Phelim will observe and comment with the same, critical eye and thought-provoking voices.
The voice actors have been very good and the selected excerpts paint a picture far less crisp and clear than the muddy mix of grays this case has become. Please keep up the beneficial effort to bring us into the courtroom and delivering an audible glimpse into how the system works (or fails to work) as a path to justice.”
