An odd review
While I acknowledge the show has flaws which if I were a professional reviewer would lead me to mark it down, I have a strong affection for the show. The narrator in particular is generally unnecessary, and occasionally a de traction to a scene. I thoroughly enjoyed the binge. My first indication was in the first episode during an interaction between the main trio. I had mixed feelings to that moment but I felt a growing attachment to the characters and after a few chuckles that snuck up out of my throat I decided to finish the first season. It’s a murder mystery about the brutal and unusual deaths of Mackenzie and Thomas Thorne. In general, the characters seem realistic and understandable, most of the show is paced well, and it has heroines who I don’t mind rooting for and isn’t a terrible person. In some cases I felt a personal connection to the struggles of some characters in the show. The show has flaws and won’t be for everyone. The characters are fun to spend time with though and a pretty great plot emerges. There is one particular moment which made me shout and truly respect the show but it’s a major spoiler and I don’t wish to harm another’s enjoyment if that’s your thing. Consider hearing the first few episodes Also, I very much ship shayla and Mac. Shack is otp.

I have been looking for an audio drama that actually keeps my interest. Well I’m happy I found this. It is by far better than a lot of the podcasts I have been listening to. Can’t wait to hear more.

Season one is finished and I need to say right now you need to stick with it. Despite the flaws that were in the early first season I’m happy to say it came into its own and outshined itself and the high points of the story are definitely worth sticking through the growing pains. I won’t lie,...Read full review »
