Enjoyable but unfinished
This is a great listen (I think there's a video version too?) but so far the only episodes go from 1977 to 2002. This is 25 - we're missing 2003 to 2015, and it's a shame as it is very fun. They've obviously been recorded because in the 2002 episode they make reference to the 2003 episode that they recorded earlier! A criticism would be that it is understandably US-centric and unashamedly console focused. They do often delve into PC stuff and games but often miss out seminal moments such as Syndicate, The Sims, and so on. But then again it all depends on your definition of awesome. Warning: if you don't think the Mario games are actually that great, and if you were (as most Europeans tend to be) more of a Sega kid than a Nintendo one then you may find some parts of this epic journey just a bit boring. But even then, the hosts are so infectiously enthusiastic that you remember why you started to listen in the first place.

Listened to this series on a road trip and anticipated every episode. Love the hosts and listen to other IGN podcasts. Would love for the series to continue for the later years.
