Well researched and clearly loved
Chris does an excellent job of covering a vast and difficult topic with thoughtfulness and depth. Not so deep you get bogged down in details and lose the story, but deep enough to walkaway feeling like you understand China a little better each time. His research is so well done I felt I could use several facts mentioned in the podcast in my Masters thesis about the history of Guangzhou, China. Will keep listening to these well-crafted tales.
