Appreciate the effort, but...
I appreciate the effort Chris, but the way you present the podcast makes it hard to pay attention to the story you are saying. A major first improvement would be your “radio voice”; you sometimes. Speak your. Words very quickly and. Chopped up. It makes it very. hard. to listen along. to. Episode 1 is definitely the most pointed example of this. I get that you don’t want the history to be too dry, but bear in mind that anyone searching for “chinese history” is likely OK with dryness; I get thrown out of the moment when I hear you say (regarding the migration of peoples from Africa to other locations) “to which this pale skinned, blue-eyed male says …”. Another cringeworthy instance is where you describe-but-not-describe the invention of sex. Your audience isn’t made up of children; best to avoid any culture- or age-specific jokes and funnies. If you implement those two instances of feedback, I think you’ll hit a level of professionalism that would make the podcast quite decent. I’ll check back in a few months to see things are improved; till then, good luck, and thanks for helping educate folks!

More reviews of The History of China
A solid narrative-history podcast on a topic on which many outside of China do not know so well. My only real problem with it is simply that its hard to keep track with the narrative some times, due to the alien nature of most Chinese names to my ear. But that sort of goes with the territory.
