“The Egyptian History Podcast presents a clear narrative of Egyptian history, starting from the beginning of civilization. It covers all aspects of history, from politics, culture, and religion. The history is largely presented in a linear fashion. The Podcaster, Dominic Perry, has an impressive knowledge of all thing related to Ancient Egyptian—history, archeology, culture. In addition to being knowledgeable, Dominic is sincerely interested in sharing his knowledge with his listeners. He is (in a virtual sense) unfailingly polite and patient with his listeners. The podcasts are easy to listen to and easy to digest; Dominic does a good job explaining new concepts. He always responds to comments on his Facebook and is quite open to questions and suggestions.
What would I change about the Egyptian History Podcast. The short answer is: not a lot. I think that the format is quite good. Perhaps the Podcast could occasional have thematic discussions that fit within the linear narrative…for example, on language, warfare, economy, etc. Likewise, it would be interesting to try a question and answer show (a la History of Byzantium Podcast) from time to time. These are minor suggestions…if you are interested in Ancient Egyptian History, this is definitely the place!”
