“I’ve been listening to this podcast since 2020. I have learned so much over the years from the thoughtful discussions about current events in the world and in the American church. The podcast gave me hope and laughter as a nurse in the dark pandemic years, and for that I am so grateful.
However, lately, this podcast has been increasingly negative. I listen to the podcast and afterwards feel an overwhelming sense of cynicism. There is an unspoken stereotype of the “bad Christian” on the right and the “good Christian” who leans left. As believers, we’re called to unity in the church regardless of political thought. We are also called to build up the church. This podcast is falling into the divisiveness of today’s media culture. I feel that Kaitlyn is the only one who is able to strike that balance of constructive criticism with humility, while casting vision and hope for the future. The other main characters have become self-promoting and seem blind to their tendency to do so. I hope that the Holy Post team can collectively reflect on their goals, and offer the hope of the gospel that Christians and non-Christians alike are desperate to hear.”
