Description
Hi everyone, how often can you speak to someone who is still very active in their chosen profession and is not only winning awards for their work but also running an academy to help future generations develop their skills?  As you'll hear during our chat, I really got into a lot of Derren's past work during lockdown when my industry shut down completely.  I've always loved the history of makeup and one of my favourite things to do is watch shows from different decades and work out how the hair and makeup was created to fit the filming techniques of the time (I know it's geeky!). Derren very kindly agreed to chat with me about his experiences since joining the industry in the late 1950s and not only are we in for a treat regarding his work with several Hollywood icons, he also has a fabulous memory for detail and was able to reminisce about some shows that are fresh in my lockdown memory.  Derren and his wife Miranda also run the very successful New Era Academy and it's perfect for young people who are looking to develop their confidence and performing skills.
