Great storytelling to fuel great discussion
A story for the ages. A young man’s persistent drive to make a better life for models and the struggles to realize that dream. The continuum of jerks and Mensches in Amir’s story reflects how to this day we don’t have universal empathy in society. The “niceness” of Canada is validated - and some of our ugly warts are exposed. Can there be any happy ending without the kindness of strangers? And to bring the story into the present, as our government announces a significant increase in new immigrants, are there lessons to learn here on how to improve our immigration programs AND to generate more kindness from strangers. Bravo to the writers and producers for making a great story.
