“A brilliant insight into a fascinating story. The podcast is superbly put together and makes outstanding use of the archive material, as well as interview input from those that knew ‘The Hurricane’ best. It’s not a story I was familiar with at all before listening so can’t wait to hear the conclusion and to hear the input from the presenter and others about what they think really happened!
In terms of some of the other reviews here that criticise the presenter, those people really ought to listen more closely to the podcast content - it clearly states that the podcast is made by the BBC World Service - and that means the presenter isn’t speaking exclusively to native English speakers - he’s trying to make it accessible to all (in the same way that other world service presenters do e.g. Helena Merriman on the Inquiry podcast). The presenter does an excellent job of getting across the story and ensuring that the listener is clear about who they’re hearing from (important as I felt several of the interviewees had similar voices).
Really worth a listen overall - would definitely recommend!”
