Great Podcast
I just finished episode 5; have two more to go. But, I felt the need to voice my opinion about the series so far, now. I’ve listened to non-fiction podcasts before, but this is only my second fiction one. And I have to say it is stellar. Given that it is sci-fi, you know it has to be great if it stands on its own, without the need for all the flashy CGI and special effects in the genre, which honestly sometimes gets in the way of the storytelling. The sound effects here add to the story, and don’t detract from it. I was pretty much pulled into the podcast from the beginning; each character is very well drawn, there is a lot of humor and realness to their interplay, and the voice actors do a great job. The series is engrossing, and I found myself caring about all of the characters. It all came to a head for me at the end of episode 5 with this line: “I’d like to go home please.” Both the writing to that point, coupled with the actor’s skill, brought tears to my eyes. Well done.

More reviews of The Hyacinth Disaster
An awesome short story that I really enjoyed. Not that it was a pleasant experience, it was frankly harrowing for much of the time. But it worked bloody well! Thank you for your time 🙏🏼
