A tour de force
This podcast is ambitious and sweeping in scope and very coherent and engaging in its execution. Dave explains and links all of the key social, political, economic, religious and scientific forces and events that shaped the history of the technological development of humanity from hunter/gatherers to the people we are today and the world we have created for ourselves. Everyone with even a remote curiosity about how all the elements of our human technological history fit together will get a lot out of it. Dave is a great narrator because he does not insert himself in the story, but we see his intellect and curiousity through the way he carefully drills down into certain topics, events or people while seeming to gloss over others, only to return to them in more depth when more appropriate. He does all of this with a humble, wry sense of humour, deep humanity and great enthusiasm. All these ingredients make The Industrial Revolutions one of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to. Thank you, Dave!

Host has slightly annoying smartassy type voice but the intentions are all good and the content is excellent. I wish he would give more of his sources to inspire further reading.
