Excellent fusion of wit and science
This series (restricted however to a ridiculously small 4 episodes) is a great example of what happens when talented enthusiastic people engage in banter that is erudite yet irreverent without being exclusive. Ince and Cox bounce off each other and the audience, who are being educated while being entertained. The experimental demonstration (using birth dates in the audience) of the counterintuitive fact that even a small quantity of people are likely to contain birthday twins was one of the fastest demonstrations of a mathematical curio; and this was done on the radio! Lots more of this please, this is a good example of intelligent inspiring edutainment. Patrick Denny

I think Robin Ince's comic timing and jovial, cynical demeanour perfectly offset Cox's good spirited incisive take on science. The show is accessible, entertaining, pertinent and brilliant. I'd highly recommend it to science experts and newbies alike.Read full review »
