Chris Carpenter Fanboy?
Dude, this episode was awesome. I started listening while thinning Pinot Noir fruit at work, and just finished at home while making supper. Chris is someone I’d love to meet. Even work for. I was working this spring for my good friend grazing sheep under vines (a few of those vineyards mentioned in this episode) and was having a train wreck of a day with the sheep in Calistoga. A guy walked out of the winery and brought me a bottle of Mt Brave and said, “this is made by our winemaker Chris Carpenter. It looks like you’re having a rough day, and I wanted to give you this to cheer you up.” Not to sound cliche, but that was a pivotal moment in my life, and a second wave hit me when I opened the bottle. Dios mío! Some day I want to make wines of that caliber, although on a smaller scale (and also give them to people having rough days.) That kindness says a lot about the people there. I miss Napa and Sonoma and the wine-sheep-human interaction. Love your show, thanks for sharing!

Great winemaking podcast that is technical enough to be relevant, but entertaining enough to keep interest. Amazing for studying for the Master of Wine program, papers 1-3. Helpful to have some knowledge of science / winemaking beforehand.
