“First off, Jeff is extremely knowledgeable on what he talks about. He’s been in the industry for a long time and it shows. He also has a very listenable voice, and you can tell he has a background in radio.
But man, the negativity. Not necessarily on the video games themselves (although he’s often pretty contrarian to popular games as it is), but just the general vibe when he’s reading news about the industry. It sometimes feels as if Jeff is impossible to please, and sometimes it gets to the point where I have to stop listening to a podcast because of how exhausting it gets. I still listen on a weekly basis, but sometimes I do have to cut it short. I certainly prefer his style over the paid-for “Everything is awesome!” style of mainstream sites like IGN, but more of a happy medium would be nice. Nextlander is really the podcast that does it best.”
