Brettons Rejoice!
I first fell under the sway of Sherlock Holmes as a boy. When I was 10, my father gave me The Complete Sherlock Holmes Treasury in red leather—the very edition you can see Jeremy Brett carrying in some photos. When the Brett series appeared on “Mystery,” I had found my Holmes. Gus and Luke, the Mycroft and Sherlock of the air, our genial hosts, not only dive into the episodes and the canon. Their efforts bring us marvelous interviews with cast, crew, and have replicated props from the series. From Stephen Fry to Prim Hardwicke, the guests enhance the series commentary. It is, simply, a delight, informative, splendid and all one could ask. They deserve all the Persian Slippers!

I think Jeremy Brett was the best Holmes ever, even though I still enjoy other portrayals but more for fun rather than the real quality of the TV series. I...Read full review »
