“I’ve been listening to the podcast for about 4 years, since my husband’s field season took him out of town for large portions of the summer. He had always grown the veg and I took care of the landscaping. His work life changing meant, if I wanted vegetables, I’d have to grow them myself. I quickly became a radical convert and have since been turning our city lot into a permaculture micro urban farm. The joegardener podcast is my favorite resource for questions about growing a specific plant, cultivating natives, increasing wildlife diversity, general garden practices, and which books to buy! I have three topics I’d like to hear more about on your show: growing mushrooms in the garden, using waste wool for soil moisture retention and perennial edibles (think perpetual potatoes and Egyptian walking onions rather than rhubarb and herbs). Thank you and keep the geeky science coming!!
