“There is joy to be found in the content. The guests are those most would find enjoyable. The host does their job well, and the show moves along.
A point was docked for the name. Much has recently been written about Muir’s racism and ties to eugenics. While his accomplishments in preserving wild places are laudable the means used to do so are not. Nor are the reasons.
The indigenous peoples from which the national parks and forests were stolen to “preserve” would very likely like to have them back.”
