Not sure who the audience is for this
This is the WSJ. So I was optimistic that I would learn something from each podcast. Sadly, many of the episodes are so shallow that you learn very little. The Google Maps episode was good but the one on making products in America was poor. It was really just saying that “manufacturing” a shoe entirely yourself is harder than “assembling” a shoe from outsourced components. Hardly an original thought and it really had nothing to do with making things in America. Also, they kept saying that making a shoe like this involved a lot of steps. But didn’t really go into any detail on what those steps were (except that you have to have the equipment to make shoes...duh). I thought they might mention regulations or taxes or unions or raw material prices or employee salaries. But no. Just “it’s harder than making a cheese sandwich”. Thanks for clearing that up.

The episode on geo tracking is incredible. I love gimlet and the wsj and the fact that they’re working together makes it even better
