Whoops.
Complete fail. Podcast hosted by really smart mathematicians who cannot relate to humans. Guys, if you cant explain the chain rule any better ( less obtuse) you should give up and just play your video games. It’s not that hard, (the chain rule) and way more interesting. Math is easy, you are not. Take it down 12 notches. Relate. Relate. Relate. Math is beautiful not abstract so stop trying to prove how smart you are. One more hopefully helpful thing- instead of a dog and a leash, tell me how the chain rule can be used to predict success with the opposite sex. Not hard, guys. You just need to relate.

More reviews of The Joy of x
This show is window into a fascinating world - our world! - through the life and career of a brilliant scientist. Host Steve Strogatz is warm and delightful and so curious! Hits the ball out of the park - it’s my new recommendation to everyone. It’s the show the world needs right now!

Sometimes those with advanced degrees have a difficult time explaining complex topics in simple and clarifying terms, but the joy of x allows listeners of any level to enjoy insightful and clear discussions of incredibly diverse and complicated topics between modern thinkers. A joy to listen to.

Spellbounding, magical that’s the feeling I get when I listen to these talks. For some of us who are not into scientific research , it’s like taking a peek into Neverland!
