Description
Indie-Pop Singer, Songwriter, Musician and Recording Artist Emmrose calls in to the Junk and Jam Hour to share her journey in music and songwriting, which began at the age of eight - when she sat down at the upright piano at her Sunday school, and was inspired to compose her very first instrumental song. Also on Topic: as someone raised in the digital era of streaming, Emmrose reveals that despite never having used or played cassette tapes or compact disks, she very much enjoyed - and was influenced by - the music from her fathers eclectic vinyl collection. We further talk about the success of her last album 'Hopeless Romantics'- and how incredible it was to be honored as the winner of a 2020 W.A.M. Award for Best Album in the Pop music category. Emmrose also graciously shares and discusses her latest hit single Waitlisted - her "anthem" for people who've been, "waitlisted or rejected," for something in life they really want - a song she was inspired to write after experiencing her own angst of never being quite rejected - or accepted - into The Clive Davis School of Recorded Music at NYU. We also listen to and chew over her song, The Imposter, in which she divulges about her anxiety of not feeling good enough for the success the present is now offering her - perhaps, as we discover - because she has yet to put her own past behind her. Just to clarify: Emmrose IS more than good enough -- she's amazing!
