Description
Singer, Actor, Songwriter, Storyteller and Expressionist Khalifa White visits The Junk and Jam Hour as a live, in-studio guest, to talk all about her upbringing in the church where she first honed her flair for singing and dancing - and her incredible journey in musical theater where she lent her talents in many notable roles, including a tour with the School of Rock, and productions of Hairspray, Ain't Misbehavin', Smokey Joes Café, Dreamgirls, Aida, and the Bodyguard.
She joyously talks about her experience as being named only one of three finalists - out of thousands of young, talented women - who auditioned for Broadway’s 2019 search for the next Roxie Hart in Chicago, and the gracious words of advice she received from Tony-Award winning Dancer, Actress, Choreographer and Singer - Ann Reinking.
She also shares and discusses her marvelous new, original song, 'You Okay (Black Girl)' – a tune she declares to all the beautiful black girls: YOU DESERVE LOVE EVERY DAY IN EVERY WAY!!
