BYU entered Saturday with hopes of turning their season around with a win against East Carolina. The Cougars started fast in the first quarter, with a Tanner Mangum hitting Micah Simon with a 12 yard touchdown passMangum found Matt Bushman with three minutes left but it hardly put a dent in the Pirates margin. Kelani Sitake and his team ended up falling to East Carolina 33-17, losing their seventh straight game, and falling out of bowl contention for the first time since 2004.
