We've been noting a rising wedge pattern in the markets, and on Wednesday markets broke out of that to the downside. The good news is that markets came down to the 20-DMA, tested, and held. So the first level of support is holding; the next level will be at around 5,650, which is the 50-DMA, so risk of additional correction remains as we head into the election. This should not be surprising: While there have been a lot of investors piling into markets in anticipation of a Trump win, there are not guarantees of that outcome, and in response, some are taking a few chips back off the table, "just in case." So we may seem some rotation out of those areas in response. Post-election activities will include resumption of buy backs and a bit of clarity on policy positions going forward, depending upon the election outcome. Also, fund managers are really behind the curve this year, so post-election action will include moves to enhance positions going into the end of the year.
