Michael Who?
I had never heard of Michael Ian Black so thanks for having him on your show. Now I can avoid him. Like Dan Ackroyd did, during their (only?) encounter. Still your guest was quite informative. I had no idea Donald Trump has no sense of humor. The next thing you know Mike will inform me that Laughing Girl is almost as hilarious as Joe Biden. Donald Trump’s idea of humor is to denigrate his political opponents, your guest informed us, as he proceeded to denigrate Trump, with one unfunny “joke” after another. Apparently, Trump’s greatest sin “is in his skin.” The famous line from the Louis Armstrong classic, Black and Blue, has come full circle. Now white folks are the ones who have to be ashamed of themselves for being born the wrong color. Unfortunately, pigmentation is a little more permanent than a last name so Mike is trying to atone for his “privilege” by making fun of himself. Just like Donald Trump does. Unfortunately, people who take themselves a little too seriously can’t believe a Presidential candidate would JOKE about being “a dictator on day one.” Especially, if he has no sense of humor.

Comedy number one, journalism number two. The host/journalist is as good as his guests. He obviously knows comedy and his guests respond accordingly

I loved the interview with Jordan Klepper. It was so timely, and a fascinating look at comedy in the USA during Covid. I only wish that the interview had been longer. I also started singing “Two Princes” as soon as I finished listening...so thank you for that?
