“I’ve been following The Lead since it launched and have loved it since the beginning. The Athletic provides some of the best reporting I’ve seen and I’m happy to report The Lead is no different. They’re able to get me interested even in episodes about sports I don’t follow, and they often use sports as a lens to discuss bigger cultural and societal issues. Really, really well done and the exact kind of reporting I love to see. Like a previous reviewer, I also love the diversity of guests they feature and it’s GREAT seeing a woman at the helm of a sports podcast. Both Kavitha and Anders are top notch hosts. This is one of my favorite daily listens without a doubt.”

“The podcast has a good premise. If you are a casual sports fan, this is a good listen. If you are a diehard that wants a look behind the X’s and O’s, you may want to skip this one. It covers a certain topic a mile wide but only an inch deep.”

“Both episodes are issues anyone listening to the show is likely already well versed in and it took 2 minutes to get to the discussion today and 3 minutes to just get to the new show description yesterday.
I respect the production value put into it, but this is a podcast not a documentary.
