“I love the host’s voice and his ability to convey the tension and mood of the more horror/creepypasta based stories. Even though it’s patently obvious that some of the stories are clearly the work of an immature, overactive imagination and worthy of nothing more than a raised eyebrow and bordering on “Attack Of The Killer Tomatoes” laughable. The stories of clearly disturbed men egregiously harassing young girls/women are many and nauseating. Purely because this is an all too real, ongoing, prolifically profound global issue that’s deeply disturbing on every level. It can be quite jarring to go from clear fiction to a very intimate, real, and potentially triggering experience for many. It’s shameful that we still live in a time where some men actually believe they have a right to behave in ways that are thankfully and rightfully becoming increasingly recognised as the criminal offences they are by law enforcement. Apart from these very raw, upsetting stories, the podcast is entertaining and interesting. Some of the paranormal ones can be genuinely hair raising but a lot fall a bit flat. The religious ones are nonsensical and tiresome. No fault of the host though and he reads them extremely well and has earned his stripes by diligently reading some really anticlimactic fiascos. He does a very good job of balancing tension and suspension of disbelief throughout which is admirable. I first started listening around 2018 on YouTube and thoroughly enjoyed the channel since then. I now listen to the podcast to fall asleep to which some might say isn’t a very good idea! Nevertheless, the creepypasta aspect is definitely what keeps me a firm fan of Let’s Read.”
