“We needed a podcast like this to start opening a wider conversation about what education really is. Generally people think education is what happens in schools, but that’s reductive, misleading and in a huge percentage of cases it’s wrong too. Education happens in many different ways and in most cases they don’t include a school or anything resembling a school. Also what happens inside schools can be education in some cases (in some schools, with certain teachers, and for certain students) but in many cases what happens inside schools is no education whatsoever, and instead some very negative events that can (and often do) bring children’s self esteem and self confidence down with life long implications. Anyway, all this to say thank you for starting this podcast!”
