“I’ve been following Dean and his various cohosts for years from the last version of this show into this one and Kirking Off. Always fun and insightful but the emphasis on membership has grown to be exclusionary. Yes there were almost always ads for membership and yes there were perks to after show chat, but now they give half a show and then tell you the rest is for members only. I’m not even sure they KNOW they’re being so blatant. Cases in point: recently they did episodes on Carrie and Pet Semetary. Perfect fodder for this show. Guess what they held off for the members and barely talked about on the episode? The kid coming back and killing people in Pet Semetary and the Prom in Carrie. Because they want people to pay for the privilege of talking about the climaxes of the movies they’re discussing.
I pay membership for a few podcasts. To support creators I like and to get EXTRA content. But paying for the second half
of an episode? No thank you.
And yes, this would’ve been 5 stars easily if not for this change l.”
