Pedagogy of the Impressed
I stumbled across your podcast through a recommendation posted on the Partially Examined Life’s Facebook page. I’m a former Catholic who is now a practicing Unitarian Universalist. Unlike common sentiment amongst many of my self-exiled formerly Catholic UU comrades, I assert that my Catholic upbringing was the start of my social justice ministry. The Magnificast speaks to this part of me. I have found your podcast to be a real inspiration in this pursuit, as it fuses my libertarian-socialist politics with my gnosis. This is no small feat and one that has eluded me until very recently. I frequently mine your scriptural references and exegesis to bring to my church, to remind us UUs that Christian wisdom is important too, and in keeping with our commitment to universalism. Keep up the great work, keep turning water into seltzer, and may we one day liberate all pizza-lovers everywhere from capitalist oppression.

But you should listen to this podcast. Matt and Dean throw up the alley and help you oop it on...Read full review »

Matt and Dean (or as I refer to them inside my own head: Magnanimous Matty B. and Dean “The Dream Boat” D.) are Truly Top Tier™. The podcast is deeply philosophical, informative, entertaining, and genuinely funny (which one may not necessarily expect from a Christian Communist podcast). You...Read full review »
