Lazy & self-involved
Not only do they not know very much about the books they’re talking about, but they don’t even like them. Worse still, they’re self-involved to the point of autism. I got almost to the end of ‘The Information’ episode before I physically could not listen to these morons any longer. They dislike their material; they feel smugly superior to it. Astonishingly, despite their lack of insight, rudimentary charisma, literary comprehension and command of articulation, they often laughingly feel superior to their subject. It’s beyond me why they even bothered with this. I hated almost everything I heard. To people who made this: why don’t you do a podcast on Ocean Vuong or Rupi Kaur, that’s more your speed. … arseholes :)
