Description
Welcome to another episode of The Meat Medic Podcast. Today, I share a candid review of my 12-month journey with the carnivore diet. As a doctor who embarked on this diet to address chronic health issues, I found significant benefits but also faced unexpected challenges.
In the early stages, the diet resolved issues like joint pain, chest pain, and IBS, leading to a remarkable improvement in my overall health. However, around the six-month mark, the positive effects plateaued and new concerns arose, including nutritional deficiencies and a concerning increase in insulin resistance and chronic stress response.
This episode delves into the complexities of dieting, the importance of listening to your body, and the realisation that a one-size-fits-all approach doesn't apply to nutrition. I experimented with reintroducing certain foods, which led to insightful discoveries about my health and the impact of oxalates and carbohydrates.
I'll also discuss the implications of my blood test results throughout this journey and introduce the concept of the primal fusion diet, a balanced approach I've devised based on my experiences and patient data.
Whether you're a carnivore diet enthusiast, a skeptic, or somewhere in between, this episode offers a nuanced perspective on dietary choices and their long-term effects on health. Join me as I explore the lessons learned, the changes I've made, and why I believe in a more flexible dietary strategy moving forward.

Remember, these are my personal experiences and results. Your journey may differ. Always consult with a healthcare professional before making significant dietary changes.
