“Thank you for bringing so much clarity and insight into what is means to be a messenger. It has truly ministered to my heart and encouraged me towards God’s purpose for my life. I work as a hospice nurse, and I regularly care for those who are not believers as they enter their dying moments. Throughout my time as a nurse, I have attempted to listen to the Holy Spirit’s promptings regarding when to pray with patients or when to speak about Jesus/scripture. We aren’t allowed to speak about our faith while working because it could be considered pushing our faith on someone else. I can be fired for doing this. If I were fired, I would miss out on loving so many other dying patients. I realize this may be their last chance to hear about Jesus, and I feel that burden. I also see many nonbelievers or lukewarm believers having so much fear at end of life. For Christian chaplains or nurses working in hospice, do you have any thoughts on navigating sharing our faith in this setting while also honoring the fact that employers and families have trusted us in the role to not share our beliefs with other people? Thanks again for an amazing podcast!”
