Superb story telling, addictive and immersive
This is a series of short stories, but all taking place in a single cohesive world - Metamor City. Created by Chris Lester, it’s a world where magic and technology co-evolved together, and magic is getting stronger. It’s a dark and gothic universe with a futuristic twist - think Buffyverse/Angel meets Batman meets Torchwood. The calibre of writing and characterization is top notch, and the production quality is excellent. At the time of writing, they are on episode 10 but I thoroughly recommend you start from the very beginning and work your way through, as you learn more about the world as you become immersed in it. The very first episode, while simply narrated, is an excellent introduction and it certainly held my curiosity by the end of it. However, episode 2 was gripping from start to finish and from that point on I was completely and utterly addicted. By episode 4, the series has a full cast (rather than just simply narrated by one person) and makes full use of sound effects and music to totally immerse you in the story telling. If nothing else, I highly recommend listening to their promo episode as it gives you a chance to get a feel for the series. I should stress that the series often has very mature content and is not suitable for children. I hope you become as addicted as I have.

This series has a little something for everyone; vampires, psychics, mages, future technology. Think of the Harry Canyon series from Heavy Metal, mixed with World Of Darkness, a touch of really interesting story lines and you have Metamor City. The series starts off as self contained stories,...Read full review »

I've really enjoyed this - the main story is gripping, with twists, turns and complex characters. The world is clearly well thought out, and gets introduced at a good pace in the story. I'm always looking forward to the new episodes, and wish they could be more frequent!
