“I could write a long winded piece on why I value Michael Martin. Realizing that most people have a very short attention span and barely read anymore, I have opted for a short one. I reached out to Michael in the early part of the pandemic to coach me. I have been a practitioner for decades and so I wasn’t seeking the ABCs of trading/investing. My decision to work with him stemmed from his outstanding book and the podcasts. The book is a must and reminded me of a best seller called, The Inner Game of Tennis, and his podcasts debunk most of the hubris most people are exposed to in financial media and marketing driven sell side “research”. We then became friends, and frankly, despite having had some top notch mentoring most of my professional life, the issues I got to work on with Michael were literally life changing from a trading perspective. The podcasts are a healthy reminder that most of what you hear is conflicted views, and that the key is to focus on managing risk. If you invest, trade or wanna grow, don’t miss any of his podcasts and if you can, try to get some face time with him. His insights are invaluable to help rewire your approach and find a “system” that matches your persona and risk appetite. If you are looking for snake oil solutions, move on….”
