“Hey Carrie- I grew up not far from you in Pepperell Ma. Have an older brother and sister who listen to WAAF all the way back to 80’s when “ god” would do the weather HAHA!
So I was fan, before I knew I was a fan!!
3 pod cast stand out for me-
I grew up with military in the family..both my grandfathers fought in WWII, but I also had an uncle who fought in Vietnam.. and this is where these pod cast effected me. My uncles name is David E. Bunker he grew up in Kingston NH. He was drafted into the Army. I don’t have dates on hand-when he started his journey.. he turned 21 on Nov 8, 1967 and died Nov 13,1967. My mum and him were 14 months apart, and my uncle was my dads best friend( he was suppose to be best man on May 18,1968 when my parents married) my whole life- I knew my uncle was killed in Vietnam- my mum spoke to a few guys that were with him when he died. 💔 - he was a gunman and I believe he died from a shot to the head. I was the 1st in my family to visit the Vietnam Wall in DC( 8th grade school trip) I did a rubbing of his name and it made the local paper!!! I consider myself an Empath. The emotions of uncle Froggy , Jonathan and your trip to Afghanistan ( my husbands friend has been 2 tours Afghanistan , and is now a Georgia state police) Torn at my heart....
I have always donated to the vets, and will continue. I always stop and shake the hand of a Veteran and say thank you for their service in honor of my uncle. I now have 3 boys of my own, 1 is named after my uncle and I teaching them to do the same.
As hard as it was to listen 😭 I had plenty of tears. I thankful for all of our military that keep us save, as they put their lives on the line. ♥️”
