“I had been left wondering where the heck you guys went!? And when you finally returned, the 3 episodes that dropped were so far from being the show that I loved. I don’t understand the new podcast. Who the heck is this new intro guy? And this upbeat bloke?
I know their names... but what I’m getting at is this... and where is Mike Johnston!?
With the original podcast, I loved that I got to hang out with Mike Dawson and Mike Johnston. Hearing about them... Hearing hilarious moments of them figuring out how to see eye to eye on things... Dawson and Johnston’s personalities were a perfect fit! A yin and yang for a lack of a better term.
Maybe it should never have been called the modern drummer podcast in the beginning? But it just feels like the CEO of modern drummer was like, ‘you guys need to be whipped into gear and give us a podcast that is more professional ... blah blah blah’
All I know is that this new show lacks personality. I’m not against interviews...
The upbeat show was incredibly unprofessional. I cannot stand listening to podcasts with Skype latency. I didn’t even get 1/3 of the way through.
I realise change/growth is something to work for and should be celebrated. I’m struggling with this one.
You guys didn’t even explain this new podcast... it was a massively unpleasant shock.”
