“This was categorized as “horror” when in fact it’s “cringe”. The type of cringe that’s felt watching an American Idol contestant who’s never been told the truth about their singing. It’s difficult to invest oneself in the story, when the reading is so over the top, melodramatic. Maybe at some point in time, this type of performance was considered scary, but when heard through modern ears, it’s more like a subplot to Murder She Wrote. If you’re looking for true horror, I recommend the Knifepoint Horror podcast..”
