Financial Literacy Month, Holiday Scams, and Grey Cup Weekend
Description
How can we use our holiday shopping as an educational tool to teach our kids about finances and budgeting? November is financial literacy month – we took the opportunity to catch up with Bruce Sellery - CEO of Credit Canada – for some tips on how to not ‘break the bank’ this Christmas – and at the same time, educate the kids on responsible spending during the holidays.
Next….the “season of giving” just around the corner - and the holiday season is also a ‘scammers’ favourite time of year! If you’re looking to make a charitable donation this holiday season, the Better Business Bureau is urging caution. We speak with Mary O’Sullivan-Andersen - President and CEO of the BBB Southern Alberta – for some tips to recognize ‘charity scams’ during the hustle and bustle of the season.
The ‘big game’ won’t be the only ‘action’ on the field this Sunday in Vancouver…..there will be a very special ‘reunion’ taking place during the 111th Grey Cup….50 women who were CFL Cheerleaders from the 1950’s to today – will be performing at the Grey Cup Festival. We get details on this reunion for-the-ages, with former Calgary Stampede Cheerleader – Tricia Oshiro.
