Not what it used to be
When I first began listening to the podcast I LOVED IT! It was a podcast about real women and issues the average woman could relate to. It also included feminists and educated women to learn from. Lately, however it seems like the topics are not as relatable as well as the women being interviewed. The women are wealthy and have lives that are difficult to even fathom for the average woman. For example, the surrogacy episode was mainly about the wealthy woman’s experience that would be nothing like the average woman. And it seems like motherly is now directed toward the wealthy white woman, where it didn’t used to be. The episodes are dry and and lack real world perspective. The new motherly shop is also an example of this- the products are extremely expensive, who is going to pay $85 for a toddler dress?? I would no longer recommend it.

As a working mom of a 2 and 5 year old this podcast speaks to my soul. The Valerie Jarrett episode. I was shouting - yes!! All of the things. Culture of motherhood! I’ve never found purpose in my work until after I had kids. I love this so much. Thank you!
