What is the only Pixar film produced before 2006 that does NOT have a sequel/prequel/franchise? Well it's the movie of today's episode, A Bug's Life. Released in 1998, A Bug's Life tells the story of an oddball ant named Flik who only wants to help his colony. When they are harassed by a gang of grasshoppers, Flik will go out of his way to find "warrior" bugs to help fight off the grasshoppers. Will he find these "warriors"? Will he fight off the grasshoppers? Will hilarity ensue? A Bug's Life was the sophomore effort from the upstart animation studio. They set out to prove that they were not just a one-shot wonder, and boy did they prove it.  Not only did Pixar expand the technical bounds of what was possible with computer animation, they also set out to do a more complex story with more complex characters than had ever been seen with computer animation. The result was (and still to this day is) one of the best looking computer animated films of all time. Listen along as we dive into this film that has largely taken a back seat to Pixar's subsequent films, but that still holds a dear place in the hearts of those who know of its greatness...
