Walt Disney was riding high in the late 30's. He had just released the first ever feature length animated film and had built a new state-of-the-art animation studio. Now, he was tasked with capturing lightning in a bottle again. He decided on another fairy-tale, about the wooden puppet who wanted to be a real boy.
