Surprised
When I heard the hosts were 2 women I kept listening begrudgingly as I searched for another podcast to listen to. But then… 😇THEY ACTUALLY TALKED ABOUT THE CASE! I do have a couple issues & those are: sometimes, admittedly, they don’t investigate enough to give the most basic info abt the crime & the tangents are becoming too frequent. Simple definitions that could’ve been Googled aren’t. Tangents are more frequent & longer. This is the type of thing that tends to happen w/ 2 women hosts that I hate. For example, in the case of the Gainesville Ripper, the inspiration for the horror movie “Scream”, the killer murders a male, then goes on to murder his female roommate. The killer poses the female, as is his usual m.o. but doesn’t pose the male. Hosts speculate he didn’t pose the man bc he’d become tired. It was quite clear he didn’t pose the man bc the man wasn’t who he normally targeted, he was collateral damage. Why would a killer who targets women pose a male in a sexual position? The detour from the story just went overboard & became ridiculous.

I love these girls. Straight up reporting on the cases, good assessment of things. Very interesting to listen to. Only complaint is that they are too heavy on trigger warnings and privilege and it gets distracting. This is true crime, we know the details are going to be rough.

They are super respectful to the victims which for me is very...Read full review »

Good concept and story opportunities but just a lot of talking nonsense and no effort to fact check themselves while talking on the fly. Feels like they’re making it up as they go.
