“I’ve been listening to the podcast for more than 2 years now, since I’ve learned about Meduza from my Russian language teacher. I was delighted to learn that apart Russian language podcast they ofer this one in English (Russian is my third language and English is my second, so it is a bit easier ;)
I like everything about the podcast starting with it’s title and logo (super cute) and the music, to the format, and I find the host well informed and truly passionate about Russian politics, history and contemporary affairs, and how he always finds interesting guests sharing their knowledge and expertise on relevant topics. In the same time the hosts remains detached, professional and even manages to smuggle a bit of dry humour here and there, without obviously offending anybody.
As I listen irregularly and sometimes catch up a few months worth of programs at one sitting, I was really saddened to hear that some listeners wrote mean reviews for Kevin. I think the bottom line is that some of us listeners might think we are way more knowledgeable, have better grasp of Russian language, would pick better hosts and overall would do so much better job running this podcast than Kevin does lol.
But I think the he does a really wonderful job and after all it is all about popularising Meduza content to English speakers and people with less than academic knowledge about Russia and its neighbours and what is happening in the region. Five stars and lots of respect and gratitude!”
