“This used to be my most anticipated gardening podcast prior to 2020, but the show has struggled to find its voice this season with rotating guest hosts - none of which have the on-air chemistry of Mike and John from previous seasons. The topics have ventured further away from the native North American plants that drew me in years ago. I miss the phenology discussions at the beginning of the episodes and the jovial banter between two old plant nerds - even when the editing and sound quality was poor. I will continue to listen to some of the “classic” reruns from previous years, but I hope the show can return to form and focus on the natives that the title advertises.”
